Holiday Season - Worst Ever?
Coming soon LESSON 3:If I watch the market long enough can I predict its crazy moves?
After following the forex markets on and off love and hate relationship for three years the market is like a bunny rabbit on crack. It goes up when it sees good financial news and goes down when the news is not so good. Forex caught my eye when I did a demo on www.forex.com and did pretty good. Well the last few months have been brutal. I keep trying and the very first step is to use charts www.netdania.com is the only one I use.
Well I can tell you for me and my family the holidays will not be a big one. Today being Turkey Day we will be living "small". No big turkey shin dig like last year. Nope. Anyway many people I've talked to say they've already celebrated the holiday early. That's good. If you read the paper or the news you know the feeling this season and this year is...gloom. I feel like there's a monkey on my back whenever I go out shopping. You can see it in everyone's eye now.
Parking lots are packed in malls across the country but this year cannot campare to last holiday season - that would be like try to dunk a basketball starting on your knees. But its not all bad, deep discouts up to 40-80% off is the norm - that is if you have the money. Here's a good article on the holiday season.

ECONOMY- thrive or well don't eat
1.)GAS SHOCK first to $4 + per gallon now its down to $2.
2.)GAS DEPEND SERVICES SHOCK: Truckers/Airlines got it point blank. Then it hit everywhere.
2.)FOOD PRICES-Yeah gotta eat.
3.)FINANCIAL SERVICES BLOWOUT: This one is almost never ending. Now its worldwide-
Europe economists commonly say a full recession is here.
4.)WITH ALL THIS DOOM AND GLOOM OPPORTUNITY HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER-ACTUALLY ITS EMBARASSINGLY EASY WITH FOREX TRADING, NAKED CALLS on EVERYTHING!!
Which brings me to LESSON #2:
This is borrowed from "forex.com
Currency symbols:
AUD - Australian Dollar
CAD - Canadian Dollar
EUR - Euro
JPY - Japanese Yen
GBP - British Pound
CHF - Swiss Franc
But thats not all they are paired together and traded as such:
EUR/USD = EURO to US DOLLAR(the main indicator of world trade sentiment)
GBP/USD = BRITISH POUND US DOLLAR
USD/JPY =US DOLLAR JAPANESE YEN
USD/CAD = US DOLLAR CANADIAN DOLLAR
EUR/JPY = EURO JAPANESE YEN
GBP/JPY = BRITISH POUND JAPANESE YEN(my personal favorite- it rallys and dives like a rabbit on drugs)
EUR/GBP = EURO BRITISH POUND
EUR/CHF = EURO SWISS FRANC
GBP/CHF =EURO SWISS FRANC
Get ahead of the game open up a demo (fake money traded on real market) account and
try it yourself.
Lesson #3 next week.

START AT THE BASICS
What is the stock market/forex markets?
To understand the markets you must understand money and trading. People buy things with money therefore money has value. At first it was strictly bartering such as salt for fish or water for eggs. With more and more things to buy people demanded things that last longer than food yet had value such as metals:gold and silver. In todays modern times the value is calcutated and given a standard such the US DOLLAR.
Most people think it doesn't change value. How wrong is that wake up! It changes value everyday based on a "consensus" by the stock market. If the market goes up the value of the dollar goes up and vice versa.

Requiem for an economy 10/5/08

August 23, 2008
Financial Markets are a joke to try to predict from day to day as well as hour to hour.
I suspended all forex trades the last three weeks..stops the losing that's for sure.
Good News. The us presidential elections are entering their final turns:
Obama\Biden by a landslide. Now the spotlight the next month will be on the
aroma of this future event on the traders.
Bad News: The economy may swing wildly depending on the latest polls-a pro McCain poll will cause the market to creep up towards a recovery mindset("a recovery mindset??") and a pro Obama poll will swing in the opposite way. Wow the next three months should be profitable!!

Internet observations:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/06/business/06tank.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin
Which proves some in america are getting the old squeeze put on them by the gas. It just won't go back down. I for the life of me cannot explain the lack of rage and distain by the american consumer. It just proves that denial runs far far far from egypt. In fact it runs right into the american phyche. Wow that's quite a river.
I can see the pain on peoples faces-snug like a bug in the rug minus about 100 per month. The numbers only get worse as the true price of life becomes apparent. High gas means all econonic decisions will involve walking, biking or just plain not going to happens. For me, my break down price is about $5.20+per gallon. I only put 5-8 gallons of gas in my tank per week. So I only spend about $40 per week in my car. I live about 10 miles from work. Wow I sound cheap. What kills our family is morgtage. We pay over $2500+ per month. It is going to reset next year so we have self-screwed ourselves just with the roof over our heads. Like gas that number will only go up. OUch.
